The Department of Justice just filed a lawsuit against Governor Abbott to force Texas to remove floating barriers in the Rio Grande and the Biden administration blasted Abbott for not working toward real solutions.
The Justice Department sued Texas on Monday over the state's use of dangerous migrant deterrents along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The suit was the first direct challenge by the Biden administration to Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security program, Operation Lone Star.
The Biden administration is suing Texas over its floating buoy barrier along the southern border, according to a Monday court filing.
The lawsuit alleges that Abbott violated the law by building structures in the Rio Grande River without authorization, creating an obstruction in U.S. waters.
